The lore
The Winged Dragon of Ra (ATK variable) is the most enigmatic of the three Egyptian Gods. Originally wielded by Marik in the Battle City finals, Ra has multiple legendary forms:
- Sphere Mode — a literal golden ball before transformation (also the most-memed Yu-Gi-Oh form)
- Phoenix Mode — immortal, returns even if destroyed
- One-Turn Kill Mode — sacrifice all your LP to power Ra
Often considered the strongest of the three, Ra's golden form represents the rising sun of Egypt and the unstoppable will of the gods.
Anime trivia: To summon Ra, you had to read the ancient Egyptian text printed on the card. In the anime, only certain duelists could read it. Spoiler: Yugi could. Of course Yugi could.
