The story of Dark Magician
Officially Yugi's favorite card. Statistically the most-summoned monster in the entire anime. Dark Magician (ATK 2500) is more than a card — it's Yugi's spirit.
The deeper lore: Young Prince Atem (the spirit who possesses Yugi) had a best friend named Mahad — a magician who swore eternal loyalty to him. When the thief-king Bakura threatened the kingdom, Mahad sacrificed his mortal body and fused his soul into a stone tablet to keep protecting his pharaoh forever. Every time Yugi summons Dark Magician, Mahad is being called to protect his prince again, 5,000 years later.
The AreaX edition has a hidden feature most builders miss: the magic book opens to reveal hand-part swaps so you can pose the magician in different signature stances — including the iconic "Dark Magic Attack" finger point. The 5 LED elements bring out the emerald and purple anime palette in low light.
Why this set matters now
This is the only buildable, Konami-licensed Dark Magician currently on the market. With LEGO's official Yu-Gi-Oh line dropping in 2026 ($150+ expected MSRP), this AreaX edition represents the final independent edition.

Designed as a centerpiece. Completed Magician stands at desk-display height with a base that fits on standard 30 cm shelves. Pairs beautifully with the Blue-Eyes White Dragon for a Yugi-vs-Kaiba shelf display.
